Salon names do a lot of work on a small sign. Most fall into a handful of recognizable styles. The classic "Salon + name" form (Salon Delphine, Salon Marigold) borrows French prestige and has been the default for upscale hair salons for a century. Botanical and natural names (Willow & Wren, Fernwood Hair Lounge) signal organic products and a calm, neighborhood feel. Hair bars and blow-dry bars go bright and casual: Blush & Blow, The Braid Bar, Sunday Hair Club. And craft-style names built from the tools of the trade (Shears, Comb, Strand, Tress, Mane) read modern without sounding like a chain.

The names that age best say something about the experience rather than just the service. "The Lavender Chair" promises a slow appointment; "The Texture Lab" promises curl expertise; "Velvet Rope Salon" promises exclusivity. Puns (Shear Elegance, The Mane Event) are common and perfectly fine for a small-town salon, but they are also the most copied names in the industry, so search your area before committing to one.

Keep it short enough to fit on a door and an Instagram handle, easy to spell when a client tells a friend, and free of your own first name unless you intend to be the only stylist forever. Two or three words is the sweet spot.
