Blood Hunter Name Generator

The blood hunter is Matt Mercer's homebrew-turned-staple class for D&D 5e: a monster hunter who fuels hemocraft with their own blood, takes Crimson Rites on their weapon, and belongs to an order that defines what they have sacrificed. Ghostslayers fight the undead, Lycans embrace a controlled curse, Mutants brew mutagens that warp their bodies, and Profane Souls bind a warlock-style patron. The class draws openly on the Witcher and on the gothic horror of Ravenloft and Castlevania, and the right name carries that same cold, Eastern European, lantern-in-the-fog mood.

Most of the names here follow three patterns. Full names pair a Germanic, Slavic, Hungarian, Romanian or Celtic given name with a bleak surname (Kasimir Voss, Mirela Stanciu, Ilsabet Crowmark), which suits a human or half-elf hunter from a Barovia-style setting. Regional bynames (Vasko of the Grey Fen, Marta of the Hanging Tree) read like a wandering Witcher and tell a table where the character learned the trade. Epithets (Gaspard the Hollow-Eyed, Brannoc Crimson-Hand, Nell the Bloodless) are the names villagers and rivals use, and they often point at the toll the hunter's rites have taken.

A handful of entries use harsher fantasy phonology for tiefling, dhampir, half-orc and dragonborn blood hunters, since the class is not limited to humans.
