For a character, decide on the source of the wealth first, then match the register: oil and land suit a Texan or Gulf name, shipping suits Greek or Norwegian, software suits a founder with a one-syllable first name. Mixing a first name from one culture with a surname from another is realistic; modern fortunes are rarely made in one country.
